Stand-Alone Engine Management Installation Parts For the ultimate in power, control, drivability and reliability, stand-alone engine management systems are second to none.They give you the ability to control every parameter of an engines functions to the highest accuracy possible. Because of this, engine managment systems can increase horsepower by as much as 25%! Engine management systems can also surpass the factory systems idle, drivability and reliability. Map Sensor and Direct Fire Ignition Most systems use a high accuracy map sensor along with direct fire ignition(or the ability to control it). A map sensor is a device that meters air inside the intake manifold. For the fastest and most accurate response to changing conditions, air should be metered from inside the intake manifold! Can you see the benefits? With a map sensor you can eliminate all restrictions on air entering the turbo. This along with the direct fire ignition system(which fires the sparkplugs directly from the coils) and the ability to control fuel,boost and timing down to 1/4 of a degree of accuracy for any rpm, or load condition, equates to the maximum horsepower possible for your car! Diagnostics and Repairs Imagine the benefit of never having to buy another cap and rotor, idle stabilizer, airflow meter,DME relay, etc….. and still maintaining that perfect idle that you desire, or the horsepower that makes owning a Porsche so great.
